Welcome to Shatshore

Shatshore is one of the oldest NGO in Assam, India founded and run by Dr. Mandira Barua with motive to enhance Social and cultural development in North-East India. Shatshore was established in the year 2002 and was registered under S.R Act,XXI of 1860 in the year 2007. Till date Shatshore has more than 100000+ (one lakh) volunteers who work tirelessly day and night for the betterment and development of the society.

Shatshore specially works for the upliftment of women and tries to provide livelihood to the weaker section of women by providing financial gaining project and engaging them and lead them to stand on their own feet. Its main aim is to make women self-dependent and self oriented in different spheres of life.

Vision

Shatshore has a vision of making a stable, healthy and progressive society where a woman can live peacefully with dignity. The visionary of Shatshore is that no poor talented and bright students leave their academic studies midway due to lack of money. Shatshore also has vision of protecting the cultural heritage of Assam and its people and carry forward internationally.

Mission

Shatshore strongly believe that a society can be progressive if the women of the society are well equipped with skills, education and be financially independent. So the mission of Shatshore is to make each and every woman skilled, educated and financially independent so that the society could be progressive. Progressive society leads to a strong nation. Shatshore also has a mission to take the Assamese rich and exotic culture internationally by educating the younger generation about cultural heritage of Assam and how to carry forward the dignity of Assamese culture on global forum.

Objectives

1. To undertake all kinds of activities and to work for all round development of women and children.

2. To work for all round development in the socio-economic, rural health, preservation of ecology, utilization of natural resources and generating of employment of the society.

3. To promote activities for the education and socio-economic development of the unemployed youth with different training programs in rural and urban youths.

4. To promote activities associated with traditional and improvised Assamese handicraft an undertake projects on upliftment of bamboo, jute etc.

5. To protect and promote the traditional art and culture.

6. To promote health nutrition and fitness among all sections of the society and to conduct awareness generation activities and to develop facilities for prevention, control, eradication and treatment of all epidemic and pandemic diseases such as Malaria, gastroenteritis, encephalitis, HIV and STD, hepatitis, tuberculosis, polio, eye and ear diseases, cancer, heart disease, leprosy, filarial etc.

7. To encourage social welfare activities to the people and remove their illiteracy.

8. The society shall organize social plantation programmes to make the society evergreen and pollution free from time to time. The society shall make social forestry on the vacant lands and road sides with the co-existing people.

9. The society shall render rehabilitation programmes to the street children, orphans and old helpless people for their rehabilitation in the society with the help of various sponsoring institutions, people etc.

10. Promotion of Social Self Help Group would be taken under care, for the locality, by the society.

11. To help reduce the unemployment problem of our country by organizing and promoting self employment generation schemes.
